Everybody was trying to guess just who Taylor Swift was talking about when she spilled to Rolling Stone yesterday about falling out with another female pop star.
Just hours after the interview hit the web, Katy Perry posted a cryptic tweet comparing a mystery woman to Mean Girls‘ queen bee Regina George.
“Watch out for the Regina George in sheep’s clothing,” Katy tweeted to her 56 million followers. Oooh, she’s a dark horse, that Katy Perry… could she be Taylor’s unnamed “frenemy“?
Taylor told Rolling Stone: “For years, I was never sure if we were friends or not. She would come up to me at awards shows and say something and walk away, and I would think, ‘Are we friends, or did she just give me the harshest insult of my life?’ She did something so horrible.”
Oh, do tell us more! She added: “I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies’.And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour.
“She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me. And I’m surprisingly non-confrontational — you would not believe how much I hate conflict. So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”
Yikes… sounds like a total “you can’t sit with us” moment. Let Regina George explain below…
It also probably doesn’t help that Katy and Taylor share an ex: John Mayer. The plot thickens…
